Our story

Groupe Mito is a Quebec-based company specializing in Asian-inspired ready-to-eat and ready-to-cook products. Founded in 2004 by five (5) shareholders, it quickly became recognized as the leader in sushi and poke bowls in grocery stores. At the same time, Groupe Mito developed a complete range of over 25 Asian products for home cooking (condiments, sauces, marinades, accessories, etc.). The company remains privately held to this day, with its head office in Montreal.

The company's rapid growth has been made possible by various service agreements with food companies (parent companies) across Canada.

Groupe MITO is ranked among the 25 largest food processing companies in Quebec by Les Affaires magazine.

200th sushi counter opened.

16 years after it got its start, MITO welcomed its 200th sushi counter. The adventure continues!

MITO launches its Poke bowls.

MITO’s now-renowned Poke bowls débuted in 2017. With classic recipes like the popular popcorn sushi bowl, there are options to appeal to every taste.

MITO recognized for MAKI2GO.

MITO was awarded the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Award for its innovative MAKI2GO, which can be enjoyed on the go and at any time!

MITO at the BELL Centre.

MITO launched its sushi counter at the Bell Centre with its innovative fresh food concept.

MITO Group moves to Montreal, at 4600 rue Molson.

In the early days of the Shop Angus development, MITO group decided to build its office and highly certified central kitchen. Today, the team numbers more than 150 employees.

MITO launches its range of ready-to-cook products.

A wide range of MITO ready-to-cook products entered the market, serving as key ingredients for Asian cooking.
